Early sample. This is the first data pull for the Fruit Cup study, with 3 completed interviews. Findings below are directional only and are not yet statistically reliable. The report is structured to scale as additional completions arrive — no structural changes will be needed for future waves.

Executive Summary

What the first completed interviews tell us.

Across the three completed interviews, guest sentiment splits cleanly: two guests reported a strongly positive experience (top-box satisfaction), while one reported a poor experience centered on fruit that was not fresh, off in taste, and not worth the price. Freshness and taste are the pivot points — they track directly with overall satisfaction and with willingness to reorder and recommend.

Guest suggestions for improvement point toward the fruit mix itself: requests to add fruit varieties (blueberries) alongside the freshness and value concerns raised by the dissatisfied guest. As volume grows, freshness consistency and price-to-value perception are the two themes worth watching most closely.

Attribute Ratings

Each guest rated six aspects of the Fruit Cup (1 = Poor, 5 = Excellent). One guest expressed several ratings in words rather than numbers — those responses are shown as given and have not been converted to numeric scores, so some attributes carry a smaller numeric base.

*Guest B answered the value question with a comment rather than a rating: that they felt it should be priced higher for what you get. Guests are anonymized (A/B/C) and are not the same order as the ratings above imply any ranking.

Methodology & Notes

  • Platform & method. SMS-based conversational interviews conducted through Gather with guests who tried the Fruit Cup in store. Each guest received a gift card for participating.
  • Completion definition. A completed interview is one where the guest answered the interview questions and provided an email address to receive the gift card at the close.
  • Store location. A store-location question was recently added to the start of the interview. All three completed interviews in this wave were fielded before that change, so store location is not yet available for these guests. Interviews completed prior to the change are still counted, and store location will populate in future waves.
  • Ratings in words. Where a guest answered a rating question with a word or comment rather than a 1–5 number, the response is reported as given and not converted to a numeric score without client sign-off. This reduces the numeric base for some attributes.
  • Not captured. Where a rating was not provided, it is treated as data that was not captured rather than a guest response.
  • Data integrity. All figures come directly from the interview export. Nothing is simulated, assumed, or interpolated. Counts reconcile exactly to the 3 completed interviews.
